Over 150 veterans — including three former Army chiefs, four former Navy chief and a former Air Force chief — have written to President Ram Nath Kovind, slamming the ruling party’s politicisation of the armed forces and”unusual and completely unacceptable practice of taking credit for military operations.
In the letter, the ex-servicemen have urged the president to take appropriate action to ensure that the secular and apolitical nature of the armed forces is maintained.
Earlier this week, addressing a poll rally in Latur, Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked people to vote in the name of Pulwama martyrs and Balakot men.
