Rohingyas continue to face unprecedented heat 13 more arrested in 24 hours

Guwahati: India continues to bear down on Rohingyas in the northeastern regions by arresting eight more illegal immigrants. 

In the past 24 hours, police have arrested 13 Rohingya women in the region.

According to reports, police arrested eight Rohingya women in Mizoram last night. The women were arrested from an Aizawl bound passenger bus at Vairenti police check post.

A top official of the Mizoram Police said that, during regular checking, the women were interrogated by the police and found without valid documents.

“Later, the women revealed that they hailed from Myanmar and had entered into India through the Tripura-Bangladesh border without valid documents,” the police official said.

The arrested Rohingya women were identified as Sharmila Nara, Atrija, Chanvar Chekhuh, Tajvi, Nurkhayas, Toiba and Rubina.
