Iranian Navy Fleet Departs Kazakhstan for Home

TEHRAN (FNA)- An Iranian Navy flotilla of warships which had made a voyage to the port city of Aktau in Kazakhstan with a message of peace and friendship left the region towards Iran on Saturday after three days.

The naval officials in the flotilla which consisted of two home-made missile-launching Joshan and Separ warships held meetings with their Kazakh counterparts during their stay and visited several military places.

Iran’s Military Attaché to Kazakhstan Captain Hossein Hariri described the results of the voyage as “important and valuable”.

He also underlined the two countries’ preparedness to further develop effective cooperation and ties in military fields.

The commander of Aktau’s naval base, for his part, welcomed the presence of the Iranian fleet of warship, describing it as a necessity to further strengthen the two countries’ relations.

The Iranian Navy dispatched the flotilla to Kazakhstan on Monday to deliver the message of ‘peace and friendship’ to the Caspian Sea littoral state.

According to Navy’s Deputy Commander Rear-Admiral Touraj Hassani Moqaddam, dispatch of the “peace and friendship flotilla” to the Caspian Sea littoral states is on the Navy’s agenda in the current Iranian year (started on March 21).

The Navy, in return, will host the navy flotilla of Azerbaijan, Russia and Kazakhstan, he added.
