Mohali: The special CBI court has acquitted former Ferozepur SSP and ten others in fake arms licence case. Around 17 arms licence were allegedly issued by then SSP Gurcharan Singh Ferurai (78) during his tenure in Ferozepur and around 60 witnesses had turned hostile during the court hearing.
As per the case, the SSP had allegedly issued arms licence to 17 persons and addresses of the applicants were found to be same in all applications. In this regard a case under the IPC, Arms Act and Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the accused in 2002 and later the case was transferred to the CBI
