‘Selfish’ Shahid Afridi has ruined many careers, says Pakistani cricketer Imran Farhat

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi’s latest autobiography titled “Game Changer” has remained in headlines lately, mostly for controversy as the book raised questions after it revealed Afridi’s actual age

Not just age, Afridi has penned down his thoughts on several political and sensitive issues also like Kashmir controversy and the 2010 spot-fixing scandal.

Now, a Pakistani batsman Imran Farhat, who played 40 Tests and 58 ODIs for Pakistan, has accused Afridi of destroying many careers.

Farhat took to his Twitter handle to request other players to speak up, he wrote, “I have a fair few stories to tell and I urge all the players who have been named and shamed to speak up and tell the truth about this selfish player who has ruined plenty of careers for his own good”

He further added, “I have allot of stories to tell regarding this so called Saint we have had the pleasure of playing with. He sure is talented enough to become a politician. (sic)”

Afridi has criticised many former players, including Javed Miandad, Waqar Younis and Gautam Gambhir in the book which is co-authored by journalist Wajahat S Khan.

Farhat added, “I am utterly amashmed from what I have heard and read so far regarding this new book of Mr Afridi, someone who has lied about his age for 20 odd years now decides to come clean and name and blame some of our living legends. (sic)”

Meanwhile, a petition has been filed in a Pakistan court to stop further publication of his book.
