COURT ADJOURNS HEARING AGAINST ZARDARI, TALPUR TILL MAY 30 IN FAKE ACCOUNT CASE

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court has on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of fake bank accounts case against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur till May 30.

The case was adjourned as the copies of the interim reference filed by the anti-corruption watchdog could not be provided to former president Asif Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur.

Let it be known that the court had directed all the suspects to assure their presence in today’s hearing.

Besides this, Asif Ali Zardari has condemned the tv interview of NAB chairman the authorities to take action against the anti-corruption watchdog chairman. The NAB chief’s interview was a violation of the law, he maintained.

The FIA is investigating 32 people in relation to money laundering from fictitious accounts, including Zardari and Talpur. Zardari’s close aide Hussain Lawai was arrested in July last year in connection with the probe.

The former president’s close aide and Omni Group chairman Anwar Majeed and his son, Abdul Ghani, were arrested by FIA in August 2018.
