The Bulgarian Navy Participated In a Joint Training for Prevention of Trafficking In Weapons and Human Beings

RUSE, (BGM) – During the past weekend in Ruse, a joint training of the Bulgarian Navy and Border Police was carried out, intended to prevention of acts on trafficking in weapons and human beings, learned BulgarianMilitary.com

“The servicemen of the Navy Special Operations Forces did a great job in carrying out their tasks. The conditions in the navigable river are risky, but they showed very good preparation,“ said the Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov.

Together with General Andrey Botsev, Chief of Defence, and Rear Admiral Mitko Petev, Commander of the Navy, he watched the actions of the military seamen in giving the Border Police support for the mastering of an offending vessel and the arrest of criminals suspected of illicit trafficking in weapons and human beings along the Danube, the detention of a high speed motor boat and the evacuation of a wounded by a helicopter.

“We saw a well-integrated way of working between servicemen of the Navy and the Border Police officers. The Navy has specific capabilities to protect the state border, which are used not only to guarantee security, but also to protect the lives and health of the Bulgarian citizens,“ pointed out the Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Mitko Petev.
