Dollar reaches record-high of Rs 162 during interbank trading

Karachi: Rupee on Wednesday shed record Rs6 against greenback as dollar reached record-high of Rs162 mark in the interbank trading, GNN reported.

Likewise, a mammoth hike of has also been witnessed in the gold price as the yellow metal soared to Rs80, 500 per 12 grams today.

In the past two months, since Pakistan signed a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the dollar has been on a consistent upward climb.

In barely a month, value of dollar has increased by 12 rupees, as a consequence of which Pakistan’s foreign debt has soared by one thousand billion while the cost of development projects has also been increased.
