Tehran: Pakistan and Iran have agreed on solving regional issues through dialogues, GNN reported.
Addressing a presser here in Tehran along with Iranian President Rouhani, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan stated that Pakistan was ready to play its role as mediator for solving unresolved issues.
“The key reason to visit Iran is that Pakistan does not desire conflict in the region. Likewise, Islamabad is against Iran-Saudi war”, the premier was quoted as saying.
To a question, PM stated that nobody has asked Pakistan to act as meditate between Iran and Saudi Arabia. “It was Pakistan’s own decision”, PM Khan told attendants.
PM also offered to mediate between Iran and U.S. to resolve the issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Iran’s Rouhani demanded immediate ceasefire in Yemen.
Earlier today, PM Imran Khan held a meeting with President of Iran Hassan Rouhani at Tehran today.
Reportedly, the two sides held wide-ranging consultations on different issues.
This is the second meeting between the two leaders within one month.
PM was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Special Assistant to PM Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari and other senior officials.
