According to official statements, the American Patriot system, which appeared near El Udeida, will protect the country’s capital, Doha, from “possible attacks using Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles.” Qatar’s US partners say the country “could be attacked by Iran.”

In addition, it is reported that Patriot will be deployed in Qatar due to the fact that in the 2022 year, the World Cup should be held in this country. It is planned that it is the American “Patriots” that the sky of Qatar will be closed from possible attacks.

It was previously reported that Raytheon is implementing a contract to supply Qatar with operational air defense and missile defense systems. At the first stage, the contract value is 250 million dollars. The Patriots also plan to cover the Ras-Laffan natural gas field, the port of Mesaid and the Al-Shamal training camp.
