Royal Marines have led the US Marines Corps into battle – and tested new battlefield with technology – as the Royal Navy continues to develops its Future Commando Force concept.
The 3 Commando Brigade battle group – featuring bootnecks from 40 Commando’s Alpha and Bravo Companies, 24 Commando, 29 Commando, Armoured Support Group, 30 Commando (Air Defence Troop) and 42 Commando – spearheaded a raid on a desert city during Exercise Green Dagger.
An RN spokesperson said: “Royal Marines have been developing the Future Commando Force concept as the lethal tip of the spear on war games in the California desert alongside the United States Marine Corps.
