DAPA inks deal for procurement of Navy’s new high-speed patrol boat

South Korea’s arms procurement agency says it has signed a deal with local shipyard Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction for the delivery of an upgraded patrol boat for the Navy.
This is part of efforts to beef up the country’s defense capabilities near the inter-Korean maritime border in the West Sea.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration said the deal is worth just over 265 million U.S. dollars.
The new 90-ton, high-speed patrol boat is expected to operate at a maximum speed of 70 kilometers per hour.
